Global Observatory for Physical Activity (GoPA!) has recently launched the third edition of the Country Cards, which track the status of research, surveillance, and policies in the field of physical activity across 186 countries. The cards are available in English and translated into 66 languages, significantly increasing their applicability in local contexts.
Lab members from the WBSI Lab (Prof. Dr. Stevo Popović and Prof. Dr. Bojan Mašanović) actively participated in the development and validation of the Country Card for Montenegro, serving as GoPA! national contact points. Their contribution ensured that Montenegro is adequately represented in the global database and that key areas for improvement are identified.

The new edition provides a more detailed breakdown of physical activity data across different domains (e.g., leisure time, active transport), as well as indicators of gender inequality in participation and research output. This opens new opportunities for analysis, comparison, and the development of national policies.
For the WBSI Lab, this engagement represents both recognition of expertise and an important contribution to improving Montenegro’s international visibility in the field of health promotion through physical activity. The cards and accompanying tools are available to the public on the GoPA! platform and can serve as a valuable resource for policymakers, researchers, and civil society organizations.
