Professor Stevo Popović from University of Montenegro and WBSI Lab stayed in Seoul during the last week of December last year, where activities related to the preparation of a project proposal within the Horizon Europe programme call were continued. During this working visit, Professor Popović was hosted by Professor Sou Hyun Jang from Korea University, with whom collaboration had previously been established on the development of a joint research project. At the same time, Professor Radenko Matić from the University of Novi Sad, representing a partner institution in the planned project, was also present in Seoul.
The working meetings were focused on further elaboration of the project concept, refinement of the scientific and methodological framework, distribution of tasks among partners, and alignment of strategic elements necessary for a successful application to the aforementioned international call, in which Korean institutions have been able to participate as full partners starting this year. Special attention was given to strengthening transnational and interdisciplinary cooperation in the fields of physical activity, public health, and digital solutions for population health monitoring.
The costs of this visit were covered by a grant awarded through a call organized by Korea University as part of the summer K-CLUB conference, where the joint project idea was evaluated as one of the most promising and supported for further development.
This visit represents a continuation of successful international cooperation among researchers from Montenegro, Serbia, and the Republic of Korea, and further confirms the capacity of the University of Montenegro and WBSI Lab to actively participate in global and European research initiatives.
